Jill Morton

Jill Morton is one of the Senior Vice Presidents of Capital Growth Properties, specializing in the leasing and selling of retail, office, industrial, and multi-family properties. She returned to CGP in 2013 after a 13-year tenure with the company spanning from 1983 to 1996. In addition to 35 years of professional experience, Jill brings to CGP a passion for creating mutually beneficial unions between landlords and tenants and buyers and sellers that is rare in our industry.

A Commercial Real Estate veteran and San Diego native who has extensive experience in leasing and sales throughout the San Diego marketplace as well as a broad property management background.

Jill Morton started her real estate career right out of college, in 1983 at Capital Growth Properties of La Jolla where she led their property management division overseeing a large portfolio of office, retail, industrial and apartment properties.  In 1991 she transitioned into their leasing division and for the following 5 years negotiated and executed an average of 85 transactions per year.  While living in Australia with her husband, Jill joined the CBRE Sydney office, working in their corporate advisory group providing property solutions to multi-national corporations seeking a single point of contact.

Since re-establishing her career in San Diego in May 2005, Jill joined the CBRE team representing McMillin Commercial in the successful lease-up of nearly 500,000 sq. ft of office space at the award-winning redevelopment of San Diego’s Naval Training Center and was later recruited to the retail team at Liberty Station where she and her team leased the project to 100% before it sold in Dec. 2018.  With listings throughout San Diego, since Jill’s return, she has been involved in over 1,000 lease transactions and 20 investment sales transactions.

Now back at Capital Growth Properties, Jill enjoys a less corporate atmosphere providing her the ability to deliver a higher level of service to her select clients.
